Something about me
I'm David Kingston; born in Nuneaton, England and now living in Leicestershire.
As well as my interest in art I am a keen musician and woodwind repairer.

I use a camera to make my images with only minimal necessary post capture processing. All the situations and the essence of my images are real and not posed. I leave a lot to chance and intuition and don't decide on a project or theme. The projects or themes emerge as I find and respond to subjects.

I've taken part in various art exhibitions in England and in Bulgaria, with sole exhibitions in Hisar and at the National Museum of Photography in Kazanluk.

I'm drawn to finding and capturing chance happenings and objects and details that would otherwise be ignored.

Among the many artists I admire, Edward Hopper is a particular favourite and influence; overtly simple, but with depth in atmosphere, the unfinished story and the gaze into others' worlds. I'm also interested in 'found art' and am fascinated with shapes and patterns produced by others' unrelated activities, a
side-product, and using them to create my own piece of work.
